The Midland Players amateur dramatic society has been active in Sheffield for over 40 years. We  perform two plays each year in the University of Sheffield Drama Studio, and sometimes undertake other project in the summer.  Originally formed from Midland Bank staff,  we have for many years been an open group, welcoming all comers. New members are always welcome both on and off the stage.

The original "fake news" story, more relevant than ever and in a modern setting, our next show will run from the 19th to the 22nd September 2018.

Dr Stockmann discovers a pollution problem in the town's baths, and though she is initially supported by the press and the community, her allies one by one fall away and turn against her. She is obsessed with the truth but at what cost to her family?

At best a flawed hero, Stockmann is declared an Enemy of the People, and perhaps that is also the truth.

Our previous show was this saucy science fiction play by Sheffield's own Joe Otten. It ran from the 4th to the 7th of April 2018.

After 120 years in deep space, the intelligent starship Hypatia, and her crew of 6 humans and one android near the end of their journey, to establish a diplomatic mission on an alien planet.

As they approach, conflicting agendas, cultural differences and romantic rivalry put crew relations to the test and a terrible decision must be made.
